In order to inset a shape,

First, go to the Insert Ribbon:

Second, locate the Illustrations subtab.

In the Illustrations subtab, click on the Shapes button.

You will see a dropdown menu of all kinds of different shapes. Click on the shape you would like to use.

Drag your mouse, and the shape will appear. Drag the shape to the size you want. When you have arrived at a size you like, let go of the mouse (stop clicking).
