The Review Ribbon of Word 2007 makes editing essays for any class easy. For this tutorial we are using an excerpt from the wonderful musical by Roger and Hammerstein: The King and I.  The Comment feature provides a space for miscellaneous notes during or after writing your paper, and separates these notes from the main body of the document. To add a comment highlight the word about which you want to type, click the New Comment button.

After you finish typing your comment, continue with your paper; your comments will remain on the right.

If you want to insert more comments later in the document, feel free. Microsoft Word will keep track of each comment.

To move from comment to comment easily, click the Previous and Next icons. If you desire to delete a comment, click the Delete icon after selecting a specific comment by clicking it or pressing the Previous or Next icons.
The Delete icon offers three options, Delete, Delete All Comments Shown, and Delete All Comments in Document, for your editing pleasure.
