Things not liked about powerpoint :(

• when people just read off of them
• when there is a backgroung or animation that takes more time than necessary
• sometimes there's no purpose to the powerpoint presentation when it's all words and no visuals
• too much text on page
• whenver the background or pictures have nothing to do with the presentation
• when the slideshow goes too fast for the audience to keep up
• difficulty of timing the presentation as a whole
• it is hard to play only certain parts of a song at certain points of the presentation
• some look boring!
• when background and text conflict
• it is overused

Things liked :D

• the graphics can help visual learners
• ability to read along with the person performing (sometimes)
• animations and graphics help understand certain areas that might not be easily understood otherwise.

What should be on powerpoint

• keywords
• sounds such as classical music can keep audience intersted, alert, and can create a mood. Also when talking about a specific sound, it is helpful to actually play it during the presenation.
• Helpful images, quotes, graphs, etc....

Did you know?

• You can write your own notes at the bottom of your powerpoint and can even print those notes?

Remember!

• cover major points
• do not insert too much clip art
• use words and animations BUT don't overuse them.....just because you can doesn't mean you should
• use good quality for pictures (JPEG)
• MINIMUM of FOUR or FIVE slides
• you will present no longer than THREE minutes
• look at the rubrict and use it as guideline
