
This is a brief how-to for the insert ribbon for Microsoft Word 2007.

There are three options for the pages subtab. The cover page option is a fully formatted cover page. The blank page option insert a new blank page at the cursor position. Finally, the page break option allows the user to start the next page at the current position.

The table subtab allows the user to insert a table into the document. You may also format existing text into a table.

Picture- Insert a picture from a file.
Clip Art- Insert Clip Art into the document, which includes drawings, movies, sounds, or stock photography to illustrate a specific concept.
Shapes - Insert ready-made shape, such as rectangles and circles, arrows, lines, flowchart symbols and callouts.
Smart Art- Insert a graphic to visually communicate information. This ranges from fraphical lists and process diagrams to more complex graphics, such as Venn diagrams and organizational charts.
Chart- Insert a chart to illustrate and compare data. ex bar, pie, line and surface.

Hyperlink- Create a link a Web page, a picture, an e-mail, or a program.
Bookmark- Create a bookmark to assign a name to a specific point in a document.
Cross-refrence - Refer to items such as headings, figures, and tables by inserting a cross reference. By default, cross references are inserted as hyperlinks.

Header- Edit the header of the document. The content in the header will appear at the top of each printed page.
Footer - Edit the footer of the document. The content in the footer will appear at the bottom of each printed page.
Page Number - Insert page numbers into the document.

Text Box - Insert preformatted text boxes.
Quick Parts - Insert reusable peices of ccontent, including files, document properties, such as title and author, or any preformatted snippets you create.
Word Art - Insert decorative text into your document.

Signature Line - Insert a signature line that specifies the individual who must sign.
Date and Time - Insert the current date or time into the current document.
Object - Insert an embedded object.

Equation - Insert common mathematical equations or build up your own equations using a library of math symbols.
Symbol - Insert symbols that are not on your keyboard, such as copyrigh symbols, trademark symbols, paragraph marks, and Unicode characters.
